The table setting is always an important element of an event. It doesn't have to be crazy. Actually, it shouldn't be crazy at all. If you are designing the table people will be eating at then I recommend you don't put flowers or any decorative items in front of their faces. Guests should be able to look at each other and talk. I am not a big fan of events where the host is blatantly trying to impress everyone with elaborate designs.
If you are trying to spice up a table with a buffet or dessert, all you need is a few pops of happy to bring smiles to everyone's faces. Just remember, when food is near don't include candles that smell. Why have them compete? The food should smell tasty enough!
Here are a few cute and unique ways to brighten up a table at any event. Keep it simple and you already get two thumbs up.
Great suggestions for any affair with tables, and people. I have read in multiple publications how never to have centerpieces be above eye level. People just can not talk, and see one another at the table to enjoy the event. I also feel simple is so much more in many ways!
ReplyDeleteI have been to weddings where money and materials were obviously the goal of the event...for impressing guests. The high, large, and awkward center pieces make it uncomfortable for guests always. The best events either weddings or parties of any sort included simple...for me the purpose is to gather and share a special event with friends, and family. Not try to overwhelm guests with how much money was spent, and have a show. Just comfortable, fun, and good food are the major ingredients to a celebration. Whether the host spends $50,000 or $5,000.... Memories and fun should be the intent.
Keep it real.....people want real.....
GREAT POST!!!
